Who we are
Westbury Advisors Limited (T/as (“Westbury”, “we” or “us”) is a corporate finance and debt advisory business based in London. We act as a broker for individuals, small to medium-sized enterprises, large corporations, as well as charities and not-for-profit organisations. Westbury is registered in England and Wales under company number 12138588, whose office is at Berkeley Suite, 35 Berkeley Square, London, W1J 5BF. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under reference: ZA710036.
How we will use the information about you
We take your privacy seriously and will use your personal information in several ways, which will enable us to provide our services to you:
- to make funding decisions,
- to make insurance decisions,
- to provide buy-side advice,
- for fraud prevention,
- for audit,
- for statistical analysis, and
- to carry out credit reference and background checks.
We may share your information with, and obtain information about you from, credit reference agencies or fraud prevention agencies. If you apply to us for insurance, we will pass your details to your prospective insurer. Information you provide may be added to a register of claims and shared with other insurers to prevent fraudulent claims.
We will not disclose your information to any company outside of your prospective lenders except to help prevent fraud or if required to do so by law.

Your personal data
Westbury will be what is known as the ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We collect personal data about you, which may also include special types of information or location-based information.
We also gather
Name, date of birth, gender, nationality, civil/marital status and supporting identity documents. Address, email, telephone number and other relevant contact details.
Financial status information. This may include employment and remuneration information, bank account details, tax information, personal credit history, details of pre-existing finance and insurance and details of income, expenditure and financial information relating to a business, charity or not-for-profit that you are associated with.
Dependents’ information. Health status and history, and information relating to current or historic criminal convictions, may also be required.
Why do we need it
We need to obtain your personal data to provide you with an accurate recommendation for your particular circumstances. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need to provide and oversee this service to you.
For processing of data to be lawful under GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Westbury uses:
- Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract Westbury has with you, or because you have asked Westbury to take specific steps before entering into a contract.
- Legal obligation: the processing is necessary for Westbury to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations).
- Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s data which overrides those legitimate interests.
What we do with it
We may pass your data to potential lenders to provide you with offers of products suitable to meet your requirements.
Automated Decision Making: Westbury will pass your data to lenders, funders and banks who may use automated decision-making in respect of your finance application. We will only collect the minimum amount of data needed and have a clear retention policy for the profiles we create.
You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling. You can request human intervention and challenge a decision made this way by contacting Emilia Spano.
All the personal data we use is controlled by Westbury in the UK; however, for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance, this information is located on servers within the European Union.

How long do we keep it
We are required to keep your basic personal data, such as name, address, contact details and dependents’
Personal information and financial status information will be held for a minimum of 6 years, after which time it will be destroyed.
What are your rights?
If you believe the data we are holding is incorrect, you can ask to see this information, and request to have it corrected and possibly deleted. We will provide you with this information free of charge, but charges may apply for excessive requests.
If you wish to raise a complaint regarding how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Manager, who will investigate the matter.
Where relevant, you have the right to withdraw consent and object at any time. We cannot continue to process your data without your consent.
